Miss Nevada US 2007

 

After having private interviews with each of the judges, and compeing onstage in swimsuit, evening gown, and onstage interivew, Mistie was crowned Miss Nevada US 2007. During her year as Miss Nevada US, Mistie was a motivational speaker at several elementary and middle schools in Clark County, and also volunteered with several local charities including Kids to Kids literacy program, Child Focus adoption advocacy, and Child Haven, a home for neglected and abused children. 

 

In the Fall of 2007, Mistie went on to compete at the national Miss US pageant held in Las Vegas, where she won overall swimsuit and was named 2nd runner up.  Her biggest honor, however, was being voted Miss Congeniality by the other contestants from across the country. 

Miss Las Vegas 2006

 

After competing against a dozen young women from across Clark County, Mistie was crowned Miss Las Vegas 2006, a local prelimiary in the Miss America Organization. Contestants were judged 35% in talent, 30% in private interview, 15% evening gown, 15% swimsuit and 5% onstage interview, and in addition to the Miss Las Vegas title, Mistie also won the overall talent award for her piano performance, a classical piece by Frederic Chopin. During her year as Miss Las Vegas, Mistie's platform was "Fit for Life: Encouraging a Healthy Lifestyle: and Mistie worked with many differnet nonprofit organizations to promote her platform. She worked with local legislators and contributed to a health intiative booklet that was distributed to all elementary schools throughout Southern Nevada, and worked closely with the W.E.C.A.N. (Ways to Enhance Children's Activity and Nutrition) program as well as the American Heart Association.

 

In July 2006, Mistie went on to represent Las Vegas at the Miss Nevada pageant, where she won overall swimsuit and was named 3rd runner up.  In 2006, Mistie earned over $12,000 in scholarships from the Miss America Organization.

Miss Pontotoc 2002

 

Representing her hometown in Mississippi, Mistie won the title of Miss Pontotoc 2002, competing in talent competition with a piano performance of Beethoven's "Fur Elise." She went to compete at the Miss Mississippi pageant, a preliminary in the Miss America Organization, and earned over $10000 in scholarships and prizes!
